Meet the Founder
Hi, I'm Angela Clifford — founder of Livermore After the Bell Enrichment, and a Livermore parent just like you.
I bring over 20 years of marketing and program leadership experience, gained across the UK, Australia, and the US. Most recently, I served as Program & Marketing Director for a $2M after-school and summer enrichment business, where I led the logistics for nearly 2,000 students across 150+ classes in 8 school locations each season and summer programs for elementary, middle and high school students — and personally designed and built the organization's website and programs from the ground up. Before moving into education, I spent years in marketing leadership roles at international financial services firms, honing the strategic and organizational skills that now shape how I run LATBE.
But some of my most relevant experience didn't come from a job title at all. For about eight years, I served as a room parent and PTA volunteer in Livermore schools. That gave me a front-row seat to two things: how hard our schools work to raise funds with limited resources, and how much of a difference just one extra hour in the day can make for a working parent trying to keep everything balanced.
Those two realities are exactly why LATBE exists.
Why I Started LATBE
Before founding LATBE, I piloted an after-school enrichment program in Livermore for Dublin Partners in Education (DPIE) as a trial season — testing whether a program built for Dublin schools could work here too. It did. That successful pilot season showed me exactly what Livermore families were looking for — and from there, LATBE was born: a program built entirely from the ground up, just for this community.
As a working parent myself, I know the after-school hours can be one of the hardest parts of the day to plan around. I wanted to build something that gave families that hour back — without sacrificing what happens during it. LATBE classes are designed to be genuinely enriching, not just a place to wait out the clock.
And because I've seen firsthand how much schools rely on community support, giving back isn't an afterthought for LATBE — it's built into how the business runs. A portion of proceeds goes back to each participating school every year, so enrolling with LATBE supports your child and the school community that raised us all.
We're starting with Emma C. Smith Elementary, with plans to grow to more Livermore schools as we go.
